Elise Ann Moore
Elise Ann MooreEnergy Intuitive / LMT MooreFit Energy Systems GYROTONIC® / GYROKINESIS® Pilates Instructor / Postural Therapy Alignment / 200hr RYT
Elise is an Energy Intuitive/ Healer,
and proprietor of Midtown Pilates Center.

Elise developed MooreFit Energy Systems™ while rehabilitating her back from years of chronic pain. The system she created is subtle movement which allows the body to release stagnant energy and create a flow through movement patterns to allow the facial tissue to open and release. MFES a holistic approach to healing the body. She is a Stott Pilates Certified Instructor at all levels, certified GYROTONIC® instructor Level I & II, GYROKINESIS® and JumpStretch Board and Licensed Massage Therapist with the State of Oregon and 200hr RYT. She is certified as a Posture Alignment Specialist through Egoscue University, and has studied nutrition as well. Elise has 3 DVDs on the market and internet for home use called “Pilates for Life” with Elise Moore.

She enjoys sharing these different modalities with her clients and the growth they experience from the work. She finds this mind-body transformation has a profound effect on the clients’ well-being.

In her spare time she enjoys hiking with her dog, reading, yoga, traveling, back country backpacking & dancing. And many more activities!

Mary Henzie
Mary HenziePilates Instructor / Postural Therapy Alignment
A resident of the Pacific Northwest since 1973, became a fitness instructor in 1992.

She has an extensive background in Hatha yoga and other fitness work.

After practicing Pilates for several years she became a certified Stott Pilates instructor in 2005.

She has traveled extensively throughout latin America, and also enjoys gardening and meditation.

She has a bachelors degree in fine arts.

Walter Kennedy
Walter KennedyPilates Instructor
Walter has been teaching Pilates since 2003 at the Midtown Pilates Center. Walter was a professional dancer for over twenty years touring internationally with the Lewitzky Dance Company based in Los Angeles.

He was drawn to Pilates to help with injury prevention and to increase flexibility, and it has helped him to prolong his dance career.

His teaching of Pilates is based in the Stott method and also utilizes his breadth of knowledge about the body from almost 30 years of teaching and studying dance and related somatic practices.

Walter is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Dance at University of Oregon specializing in technique and composition.

Janell Reidl
Janell ReidlPilates Instructor
Janell came to discover pilates while studying music, theatre, and dance at the University of Oregon. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, relocated to Chicago and then Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. After spending several years recording and performing, she returned to the Eugene area, and trained in pilates at Midtown privately.

Realizing the benefits and wanting to help others make discoveries within, she decided to obtain certification through the Stott training facility in Portland, Oregon and began teaching at Midtown in 2008. Since then she has invested in expanding her knowledge studying in studios across the United States… in Boston, Chicago, New York, Austin and Los Angeles as well as privately mentored with Mary Bowen (first generation Pilates Elder) in Northampton, Mass. She has recently completed her second year of mentoring in energy healing/work with Elise Ann Moore and is certified in Skogg Kettlebell Systems. Through this persistent desire of education she has formulated the space she works in now, which is a very intuitive approach to teaching Pilates. With a fine attention to detail she specializes in athletes who want to fine-tune their performance as well as injury rehabilitation & whole body, mind, and spirit integration.

Janell is continuing her career in music while enjoying an active lifestyle that includes pilates, dance, hiking, cross training and yoga.

Vanessa Greenway
Vanessa GreenwayPilates and GYROTONIC® instructor
Vanessa Greenway is a certified Pilates and GYROTONIC® instructor and has been teaching since 2007. She holds certifications from the PhysicalMind Institute, The Pilates Method Alliance, the Center for Women’s Fitness (Pre and Post-Natal Pilates Certified) and has additional specialized Pilates training in gait analysis and function and Pilates rehabilitation protocols for hip replacement. She is a Level 1 GYROTONIC® instructor and currently in the process of Level 2 certification.

Vanessa recently moved to Eugene with her husband and two young sons after 24 years in Chicago. She earned her BFA in Acting from the Theatre School at DePaul University and was adjunct faculty there, teaching the MFA Acting Graduate candidates Pilates as part of their movement program. As a professional actor, Vanessa received multiple Joseph Jefferson Awards and nominations for her performances in Chicago area theaters.

As a performer, Vanessa has been a life-long analyst of physical communication. She has found Pilates and GYROTONIC® training to be powerful in creating efficient and agile movement and increased body awareness in her own life and work as well as in the lives of her students. Vanessa strives to assist her clients in finding ease, fluidity and strength in their movement practice and every day activities.

Hilary Kretchmer
Hilary Kretchmer Pilates Instructor
Hilary comes from a lifelong love of movement, and truly enjoys helping others reach and exceed their health and fitness goals. After graduating in 1984 with a BFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts, Hilary spent decades thriving in a variety of customer service, administrative, design and marketing positions, while simultaneously choreographing and performing in dance concerts, vocal performances, and community theater. Some of the highlights include: co-producing a dance concert at the Cunningham Studio in NYC; earning an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from SFSU; co-founding and co-producing Marin’s 21st Century Dance Collaboration, a showcase for the original works of choreographers in collaboration with composers held at the Marin Civic Center between 1995 and 2002; being thrown into the amazing world of LAMP and the internet as the Webmaster at CHAT Communication Services/WebLink, Inc. from 1997-2002; singing with The Octurnals jazz ensemble; getting married and giving birth to a beautiful baby girl at the ripe old age of 40; co-creating 2 Eye Studios, Inc., a small start-up design company that endured for nine years; discovering the rehabilitative power of Pilates at Midtown Pilates Center; working as the marketing director at the Science Factory in Eugene; having the courage to reinvent herself and become a fitness instructor at age 50; and, working as an apprentice and then a Certified Pilates Instructor at all three locations of Body Kinetics in Marin (2013-2014).

Hilary is a Stott Pilates Certified Instructor (all apparatus/all levels), a certified yoga instructor (RYT 200), a Total Barre Qualified Instructor, a TRX Qualified Instructor, and licensed to teach Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba Toning and Aqua Zumba. Since 2011, Hilary has taught at multiple studios and gyms in Marin County, CA and Eugene, OR. She joined Midtown Pilates Center as an instructor in 2014.

Teddy Thorn
Teddy ThornPilates Instructor
Teddy started taking Pilates at Midtown in 2009 after experiencing long term chronic pain and limitations resulting from a back injury.

After experiencing profound positive results from Pilates, she wanted to share her enthusiasm and help empower others to make positive changes in their bodies.

Teddy is in the process of pursuing a full Stott Pilates Certification.

She spends her leisure time riding horses and dancing Argentine Tango.
